Travel by Train

Looking for pretty pictures? Go to Recommended sightseeing spots.

The best way to travel is by TRAIN. From Narita Airport take the Keisei Skyliner to Keisei Ueno Station and then follow the signs to
JR Ueno iγ–μjStation (few minutes walking) and board the Shinkansen
Bullet train from there . The shink has a NICE VIEW! 6000 total.

(Alternatively, you can take the Bus from Narita for 3.5 hours and just sleep. Cost = 4070 j

The Hotel is called Toyoko Inn. Click for the English Check-in website. It is almost right in front of the station.

UNLIMTED FREE ACCESS to all JR lines

A special for those who want to travel more than 1 region of Japan, and if you can stay a few weeks. If you are planning on seeing Kyoto, Kyuushuu or Hokkaido I recommend it, otherwise, just pay as you go.

You can buy a 7 day Rail Pass for 28 300 from JR Railways, you are entitled to unlimited free access to all JR lines anywhere, anytime including the shinkansen Bullet Train. (not including the NOZOMI shinkansen trains ) This means you can go to Kyoto for the day using the shinkansen! Its only 3.5 hours away, and the normal cost is 35 600 for a round trip. But the only thing that Kyoto has that Nikko doesnt is this: the GOLDEN TEMPLE! kinkakuji golden pavilion
