Eye, Written and Driving Tests (Day 2)
Your second day at the Menkyou Sentaa starts a lot earlier. You should get there before 10am, preferably at 9:30 if not earlier. You can take a 7:40 bus from JR Utsu. or an 8:15 bus from platform 12. This is extremely important because the cash register closes at 10. If you dont pay, you cannot take the test so be there before the cash desk closes. Remember to bring all your documents.

Get there before 10:00!

Pay 2400 yen at the cash desk (13)
The cash desk is under sign numer (13) on the 2nd floor. Desk 13 is the first place you go to when you arrive. It costs about Y2400 for the stamps which you paste onto your application form
If you fail, the second time you go you will have to fill out a new application form and buy new stamps before 10:00am. The application form is baby-blue and looks like this. Its the same as the old one so just copy the info accross and pay at desk 13 (before 10:00am)
Application form
Go back to Door A and ring the doorbell After you pay, ring the bell, or just give your application to the guy if he's already standing there.

Wait outside the eye-test room
You'll wait until 10:30 at a short row of orange chairs outside the eye-testroom.  There will probably be a whole bunch of foreigners there - the ones who failed the test and are here a 2nd or 7th or 14th time.

Wait your turn to do the Eye test and Written test
They will call your name one by one and re-check all your information. If you havent done the eye test, wait until everyone has been re-checked, then you can do the test with a clerk. After that, you can write the written test.

It's in the same room and really quick.

Wait until 1:00pm
After they check your test,  (about 5 mins) you will be called and told to go to the drivers waiting room, which is across the overpass, until 1:00pm. You can
go to the lunchroom downstairs of course, but be back before 1:00 sharp. Also, you are allowed to walk on the driving course from 12 noon.

THE WRITTEN TEST

There are 10 questions. To pass you have to get 7 right. Here's a nice
practice test.

It's really easy - if you have at least skimmed the road signs. Some are a little unusual.
THE DRIVING TEST

There is one course. To pass you have to drive it
perfectly. Here's the page to learn about the driver's test.

It's really hard - near impossible. I suggest going to a driving school to learn how to use the techniques they require of you.
